Drink Drinking well now, but will improve for 5+ years
Mid gold/straw colour, with a nose of citrus fruit, honey, mineral, spice and tropical fruit, with some well-judged toasty oak. Very racy and packed with flavours of lemon and lime, pineapple and allspice, with a lovely mineral streak. Pure, elegant and refreshing - and very long, too. An excellent introduction to white 1er Cru Burgundy, at a sensible price.

A bright gold/straw colour, leading to a watery rim. A lovely wine to snif and to contemplate, with aromas including apples, lime, mandarin orange and peach, with some distinctly herby notes (notably fennel, oregano and clove). Hints of honey, too. The richness of the palate almost puts you in mind of the northern Rhone - or even a pretty darned good 1er Cru from the Cote d'Or - it really is that good. The palate is rich and fairly intense, with flavours of stone fruits, apples and oranges, background notes of herbs and a touch of exotic spice and excellent underlying acidity. A truly lovely wine, and will knock spots off many a 1er Cru wine at twice the price.

Drink Drinking well now, but will evolve for 5 to 10 years
A bright mid-gold/straw colour, leading to a watery rim. The nose is a little reticent to begin with, but opens out after an hour or two of exposure to air. Aromas of citrus and peach, with background notes of mineral and butterscotch. The palate is a little more forward than the nose, with flavours of lemon, grapefruit and stone fruits, with ample acidity and a backbone of steely minerality that lingers on the back of the palate in a surprisingly long finish. The winemaker points out that, although the vineyard from which this wine comes is almost contiguous with that used for Les Combettes (above), the wines are totally different. Whilst the richness of Les Combettes is very definitely Cote d'Or in style, this one, with it's heightened acidity and minerality is more in the Chablis mould. Footnote; on day two, it has really opened out and fattened up considerably - a sign that it probably needs just a year or two in the cellar to really show its best.
