A deep purple core with a small, brick-hued rim. Aromas and flavours of cassis and plum, cedar/cigar box and subtle oak. There is a lovely balance of sweet, fleshy Cabernet fruit, healthy acidity and integrated velvety tannins.Coming from one of Australia's coolest wine growing regions, this wine displays much more in the way of old world elegance and subtlety than your average new world fruit bomb. An excellent wine, and a real steal at this price.

One of Australia's greatest Cabernets. "Deep purple, virtually opaque. Initially, a very blackcurrant nose, but with time it really opens up. Notes of tar, tobacco and coffee, with a green pepper hint. Grainy tannins add texture to the blackcurrant fruit, which is predominantly primary, but the flavours are starting to gain complexity. The tannins grip all the way to the finish, but the wine has lovely length and persistence. There are some green elements to the otherwise ripe fruit, and the acidity is fine. Young, but classy." (Tasting note by Ray Abercromby - wine-pages.com forum, February 2008).
